History

British School Alzira is a British Educational centre located in Aguas Vivas Valley, unique for its beauty and colors. The School building is full of history and art.

The building was inaugurated in the late 50’s and was intended to be a children’s hospital, although it never became one. Artists of national and international prestige intervened in the decoration of this building. Examples such as the famous sculptor Esteve Edo or artists Joaquín Michavila and Ricardo Llorens brought their masterpieces to the School.

In 1997, British School Alzira was inaugurated with a Management team led by the Corbi-Ramón family, known nationally for their expertise in the entire educational sector. As well as having more than 25 years of experience in School management, Guillermo Corbí has been president of the Federation of Schools in the Valencian Community (FECEVAL) and National Vicepresident (CECE) for more than 15 years.

Franc Corbí is currently a member of the NABSS Executive Committee (National Association of British Schools in Spain), acting as Treasurer. He is also a member of the National Executive Committee of ACADE, the most important organizational representative of private education in Spain, acting as autonomic vice-president of this organization.

BSA has benefited from a continuous program of inversion from the beginning.  In fact, up to date there has not been a single School year in which new classrooms, sport and recreation areas or additional services have not been inaugurated.

The increase in number of pupils in our School has also been continuous. The growth from 45 pupils in 1997 to more than 700 in the 2010-11 School year is proof of our centre’s prestige. Currently, pupils from approximately 60 different towns attend this School.

Our School’s philosophy is the same as when it started. We believe in a School in which teachers know their pupils, their needs and concerns, we believe in a school where pupils are motivated and enjoy a happy environment. We believe in a school with parents that are involved, informed and play an active role in their children’s education. We believe in a school with big objectives for its pupils.
